Jefferson City-- The Missouri Senate recently confirmed the nomination of Doyle Privett and Daren Todd, both of Kennett, to the Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents.

The six-member Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents governs the university. The members appoint the president of the university, employ faculty and staff, and make budgetary and policy decisions necessary to implement the university's mission.

Senator Rob Mayer, R-Dexter, was present for the confirmation, and shared his thoughts on both appointees.

"Doyle Privett will be a great addition to the university board, which will benefit from his longtime skills as a public accountant, banker and community leader," Sen. Mayer said.

Privett previously served on the board of regents from 1995-2003.

A graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, Privett is the Chief Financial Officer of Kennett National Bank in Kennett and a former partner with the certified public accounting firm of Robertson, Privett, Scherer & Collins in Kennett.

Privett is a member of numerous civic and service groups, including former president of the Kennett Chamber of Commerce and chairman of the Kennett Economic Development Committee, and is a past recipient of the Kennett Annual Community Service Award.

Todd, also a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, is a private attorney with Welch, Todd and Parker, Attorneys at Law in Malden, and a former science and physical education teacher. Todd is a member of the Malden Chamber of Commerce, the Dunklin County 9-1-1 Board, and the Dunklin County Bar Association. He previously served on the board of education for Kennett Public Schools and is a current board member for the Bootheel Youth Museum in Malden.

"Daren Todd is an active community leader in Kennett and Dunklin County, and I know he will serve the university board well," Sen. Mayer said.
