Jessie Brock

Jessie Ruth Brock Payne, 72, of Kennett, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born June 1, 1936, in Marion County, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Brock and Cora Emoline Dykes Brock.

She married Doyle Payne, who preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1994. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Beatrice Goodard, Tina Harden and Norma Price.

Survivors include two sons, Eugene Payne, of Kennett and Andy Payne, of Katy, Texas; two grandchildren; five sisters, Alice Gibbs, of Brilliant, Ala., Violet Tice and Mary Brock, both of Kennett, Clara Moore, of Perryville, Mo., and Beverly Williams, of Senath, Mo., and other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., today, Friday, May 1, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett, with a visitation from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 2, at Cox-Blevins Funeral Home in Salem, Ark.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 2, in the Salem Cemetery at Salem with Rev. Gaylon Williams officiating.
