Vada Evaline Cruce, 94, of Clarkton, Mo., died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at her residence.

Born Sept. 15, 1914, in Octa, Mo., daughter of the late James Absolom and America Adaline Baker Kegley, she was assistant administrator of the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Mo., and a member of the Lynn Oak General Baptist Church in Clarkton.

On Dec. 17, 1932, in Clarkton, she married John A. Cruce, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Nelda Jonice; four brothers, Lee Roy Kegley, Odell Kegley, Lenley Kegley and Loyd Kegley; one half-brother, Pinkney Pillow; one half-sister, Addie Lizenbee, and two sons-in-law, Martin Britt and Kenneth Bizzell.

Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Birtt and LaDonne Bizzell, both of Clarkton; four grandsons; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, May 1, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 2, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Randy Wiseman and Bill Orr officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
