J.P. Morgan, 83, of Kennett, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Kennett.
Born April 30, 1925, in Bogota, Tenn., he was the son of the late Will Morgan and Nell Schoolfield Morgan.
On Oct. 29, 1944, he married Dorothy Kinnison, who preceded him in death on Oct. 7, 2008. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy and Jessie Morgan and a grandchild.
Survivors include two sons, James Morgan and wife, Helen, of Rives, Mo., and Ricky Morgan, of Kennett; two daughters, Betty Pritchett and husband, David, of Kennett and Cathy Clausel and husband, Bobby, of Selmer, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mildred West, of Memphis, Tenn., and other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., today, Thursday, April 23, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 24, at the Friendship Baptist Church in Kennett with Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers are Jimmy Skaggs, Troy Harper, Tom Barron, William Morgan, Larry Morgan and Allen Hindmon.
