Lydia Ellen Blackwell, 82, of Hornersville, Mo., died Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Hornersville.
Born April 29, 1926, the daughter of the late Wesley Bethel Sides and Eura Frankie Whitaker Sides, she was a retired Factory Worker at Emerson Electric and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Manila.
On November 13, 1945, in Blytheville, Ark., she married James Ira Blackwell, who preceded her in death Sept. 14, 1984.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Massey.
Survivors include one son, James Blackwell and wife Teresa, of Senath; two daughters, Mary Akridge, of St. Louis, Mo., and Becky Austin and husband Alan, of Kennett; eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 4, at the Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home of Hornersville.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 4, at the Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home of Hornersville with Rev. Robert White officiating.
Burial will follow in Lulu Cemetery in Senath.
