Bessie Brooks

Bessie Jane King Brooks was born Aug. 31, 1944, and departed this world to be with her Lord on Monday, March 23, 2009, in McMinnville, Ore. Bessie was raised and attended school in Kennett. She was married and moved away to Oregon.

She is survived by her children, Jessie Carter, Janet Horton and Joella Brooks, also of McMinnville, and her sisters, Jerri Long, of Oakland, Calif., and Georgia Kraft, of West Plains, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bessie King, of Mt. View, Mo., and George King, Jr., of Bunevista, Colo.; grandparent, Ethel and Tom Pierce and many more relatives of Kennett.

Memorial services to celebrate her life will be held in McMinnville.

In lieu of flowers donations are being accepted at the funeral home of Macy and Sons at 135 NE Evans St., McMinnville, Oregon 97128.

Bessie will be greatly missed by family and friends.
