Jerry Dale Watson, 59, of Deering, Mo., died Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Oct. 10, 1949, in Holcomb, Mo., son of Carl Watson and the late Katie Walker Watson, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War.

On March 1, 1969, in Bragg City, Mo., he married Linda Franks, who survives.

Survivors also include one son, Shawn Watson and wife, Bobbie, of Cabool, Mo.; one daughter, April Medley and husband, Mark, of Deering; five grandchildren, Justin Tyler Watson and Paige Nichole Watson, both of Cabool, and Riley Gilmore, Pacey Medley and Jaylee Medley, all of Deering; his father, Carl Watson, of Kennett; one brother, Carl Eugene Watson, of Kennett; three sisters, Sue-Etta Faught, and Pam Butler and husband, Virgil, all of Kennett, and Teresa Essen and husband, Greg, of Boca Raton, Fla., and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Tony Faught.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., today, Tuesday, March 24, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Ricky Williams officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Paul Morris, Billy Holmes, Allen Campbell, Henry Fields, Chris Rister, Keith Evans and Ron Young.
