Hency Janell Samples Brown, 65, of Kennett, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Born March 28, 1943, in Kennett, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Brown and Gladys Kirby Brown.
She married Dillon Jackson Samples, Jr., who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Floyd J.D. "Peck" Brown, Lee Brown, Richard "Doc" Brown, Samuel Brown and Elvis Brown; a sister, Virginia Brown; a step-daughter, Kathy Simmons and a daughter-in-law, Tamala Tingle.
Survivors include two sons, Dillon Samples III and wife, Jennifer, of Piggott, Ark., and Jackie Tingle, of Blytheville, Ark.; one daughter, Cathy Tingle and husband, Richard Samples, of Kennett; two step-sons, Richard Samples and Tommy Samples, both of Kennett; one step-daughter, Barbara Turner, of Rector, Ark.; 15 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., today, Friday, March 13, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 14, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Elizabeth Galbraith officiating.
Burial will follow in the Gregory Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Thackary Moore, Joseph Samples, Jeremy Wyrick, Royce Champion, John Swift and Danny Jordan.
