Beverly Ann DeLaney Poindexter, 73, of Alton, Ill., formerly of Holcomb, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Born Dec. 10, 1935, in Gideon, Mo., daughter of the late Herbert F. and Euwanna Wilhelm DeLaney, she was a homemaker and worked for the Alton School District.
On June 1, 1961, in Alton, Ill., she married Joe Poindexter, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, George Herbert Poindexter and wife, Karla, of Alton; one daughter, Eron Noelle Reedy and husband, Matt, of Alton; two sisters, Barbara Woodall and husband, Ray, of Florissant, Mo., and Rosemary Petty and husband, George, of Wardell, Mo.; one brother, Everett DeLaney and wife, Sandra, of Holcomb, and four grandchildren, Cory and Alyssa Poindexter and Xander and Max Reedy, all of Alton, Ill.
Funeral services were held at 9 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with Ray Woodall officiating.
Burial was held in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
