Born Aug. 20, 1930, in White Oak, Mo., son of the late Samuel Nathan and Gladys Massey Ellis, he was a veteran of the Missouri National Guard having served during the Korean War. He was a retired service technician of an oil company and of the Protestant faith.
On March 4, 1954, in Kennett, he married Lois Martin, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Jerry R. Ellis and wife, Georgia, of Arlington, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Jeremy, Jacob and Jen Ellis; two special grandchildren, Jason Williams and Shakena Williams and their parents, John and Anne Williams; four brothers, Jim Ellis, of Springs Village, Ark., Cecil "Speed" Ellis, of Kennett. Larry Ellis, of Warrenton, Mo., and Gary Ellis, of Greenville, and Geraldine McLaughlin, of Olive Branch, Miss.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Nathan and Gladys Massey Ellis.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m., to 2 p.m., Sunday, March 1 at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Mo..
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 1, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetry-Landess Addition at Campbell.
