Gearl Wayne Adams

Gearl Wayne Adams, 70, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at The Manor in Poplar Bluff.

Born Jan. 30, 1939, in Portageville, Mo., son of the late Norvell and Nora Cranford Adams, he was a U.S. Army veteran, , a custodian at the airport and a member of the Third Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.

On June 13, 1970, he married Betty Jean Adams, who preceded him in death on Nov. 16, 2008.

Survivors include one son, Richard Adams and wife, Tina, of Jackson, Mo.; one brother, Rondal Adams and wife, Imogene, of Portageville; one sister, Kay Kurkowski and husband, Ken, of Carlsbad, N.M.; one granddaughter, Bria Adams and one grandson, Zak Adams.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with Dr. Buck Morton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Park Cemetery at Malden.
