Sydney Wilson, 95, of Kennett, formerly of Holcomb, Mo., died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Jan. 16, 1914, in Paulding, Mo., daughter of the late William Andrew and Effie Hendrixon Lomax, she was a homemaker and a member of the New Hope General Baptist Church in Holcomb.
On Oct. 28, 1933, in Dunklin County, Mo., she married Lyman Wilson, who preceded her in death in March 1985. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Wilson; two sons, Donald and Lynn Wilson; two sisters, Myrtle Bishop and Millie Dunahew, and three brothers, Charles, W.A., and Clem Lomax.
Survivors include three sisters, Orene Perez, of Leachville, Ark., Oma McWherter, of Campbell, Mo., and Betty Smith, of Flint, Mich.; one brother, Jim Lomax, of Blytheville, Ark.; three grandchildren, Stephanie Estes, of Kennett, and Sarah Jo Morgan and Chris Wilson, both of Holcomb, and five great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Wyatt Estes, both of Kennett and Eli Morgan, Lilliana and Isabella Wilson, all of Holcomb.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Friday, Feb. 13, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gouldman Derrick officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
Pallbearers are Terry Fuller, Shannon Russom, Roger Snyder, Johnny Vines, Quinten Luther and Terry Don Weaver.
Memorials may be made to the New Hope General Baptist Church in Holcomb.
