Born Aug. 14, 1926, in Alicia, Ark., son of the late John Stanley and Rosa Irene Cleary Choate, he was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired electrical lineman, a member of the American Legion of Las Vegas, Nev., and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union #357.
Survivors include six children, Brian Suttles and wife, Janie, of New Harmony, Ind., Bobby Harris and wife, Debbie, of Campbell, Danny Choate, of Mt. Vernon, Ind., Shannon Choate and wife, Teri, of Cynthiana, Ky., Regina Green and husband, Joseph, of Heber Springs, Ark., and Stanley Choate and wife, Melissa, of Piggott, Ark.; two brothers, Dan Choate, of Washington and Richard Choate, of California; two sisters, Nellie Arivett, of California and Dolly Wagner, of Nebraska; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bo, John and Dallard Choate and three sisters, Ella Sedgwick, Rosie Choate and Dot Minor.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Hanners officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
