Amelia Bernece Lebo, daughter of the late Frank Sargeant and Charlcia Horton Sargeant, was born Nov. 1, 1917, in Truman, Ark., and departed this life on Feb. 4, 2009, at the age of 91 years, 3 months and three days. She was a member of the Ely Baptist Church and a past member of the Red Hat Society.
Amelia Bernece married Arthur Lebo on Nov. 4, 1933, in Kennett. Arthur preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1988. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Lois Aileen Lebo; grandchild, Judith Ann Venable; three brothers; two sisters, and three sons-in-law.
Survivors include three sons, Arthur "Sonny" Lebo, Jr., and wife, Theresa, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Glen Lebo and wife, Tracy, of Clarkton, Mo., and Lynn Lebo and wife, Theresa, of Kennett; seven daughters, Erma Venable and husband. Troy, of Sarasota, Fla., Burlean Hillenburg and husband, James, of Rockford, Ill., June Besand and husband, Ralph, of Clinton, Ill., Louise Bowling, Joyce Cobb and husband, Paul, Shirley Metcalf and Pat Rogers and husband, Larry, all of Kennett; 30 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Doris Williams; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Revs. Dale Rickman and Chris Maynard officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters.
