Connie Eugene Shipman, 72, of Campbell, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born May 4, 1936, in White Oak, Mo., son of the late Clarence Eugene "Gene" and Hennetta "Etta" Gray Shipman, he was a cotton ginner.
Survivors include two sons, Kenny Shipman and wife, Kim, of Kennett, and Michael Shipman, of Holcomb, Mo.; one daughter, Gina Middleton and husband, Mark, of Holcomb; two brothers, Bud Shipman, of Holcomb and Farell Shipman, of Qulin, Mo.; five sisters, Mary Hofmann and Mavis Overall, both of Wappapello, Mo., Sue Morgan and Terrie Todd, both of Kennett, and Carolyn Mullins, of Piggott, Ark.; a special friend, Mary Ezell, of Campbell; five grandchildren, Heather Brooks and Kristin Shipman, both of Holcomb, Chad James, of Indiana, and Jeremy and Whitney Shipman, both of Kennett and two great-grandchildren, Morgan Brooks and Rylan McCormick, both of Holcomb.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bob Shipman and one sister, Kathy Shipman.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Friday, Jan. 23, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Bro. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial was in the Sumach Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Carl Schubert, Dennis Shipman, Dewayne Hensley, Rick Davis, Brian Shearer and Sparky Coronado.
