Joseph Lucian VanderBol, 86, of Farmington, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at Parkland Health Center in Farmington.

Born Jan. 7, 1923, in Piggott, Ark., son of the late Gabriel and Mary Elizabeth Walker VanderBol, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII. He was a member of the VFW in Farmington and the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Farmington.

On July 25, 1945, in Glennonville, Mo., he married Georgiana Alma Krapf, who survives.

Survivors also include two daughters, Joann Fortman and husband, Paul, of Farmington and Judith Vining and husband, Rob, of Garfield, Ark.; two sons, Ronald VanderBol and wife, Charlotte, of Farmington and William Ribbing and wife, Sheryl, of Anna, Ill.; one sister, Frances Hirtz, of Norfolk, Va.; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Vuylsteke and Catherine Steele and one brother, John VanderBol.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 23, with Rosary at 7 p.m., at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, at the St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Glennonville with Father Glenn Eftink and Father Dan Hirtz officiating.

Burial will follow in the St. Teresa's Cemetery at Glennonville.
