Embre McGaughy, 52, of Hayti, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at Hayti.
Born March 14, 1956, in Hayti, son of the late St. Clair and Hattie Mae McGaughy, he was a 1974 graduate of Hayti High School, and worked for Cleveland Apartments. He was a member of Cedar Street Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Kawana Borders and wife Reecie, and Antonio Johnson and wife, Barbra, all of Hayti; four sisters, Ida McGaughy, of Hayti, Margaret Harris and husband ,Michael, of Atlanta, Ga., Ruth Malone, of Chicago, Ill., and Sharon Cobbins, of Philadelphia, Pa.; four brothers, Leo McGaughy and wife, Bertha, and James McGaughy and wife, Mae, all of Chicago, Dennis McGaughy and wife, Carolyn, of Kansas City, Mo., and Lorenzo Jackson, of Hayti, and four grandchildren, Kylan, Kaniya, Kanawa Jr., and Kanasia, all of Hayti.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ with Rev. Darion Thomas officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Fred Hall Jr., Kevin Franks, Jerry Borders, Jarvis Ford, Kenneth and Leonard Brown, Floyd Roberson and Jeannie Smith.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
