Carl Harrison "Bud" Sayre, 80, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.
Born March 2, 1928, in Caruthersville, son of the late Conrad "Tom" and Lizzie Baker Sayre, he was retired from Conoco Oil Company and then started Carl Sayre Trucking Company.
On Nov. 15, 1980, in Caruthersville, he married Earline Jones Vickers, who survives.
Survivors also include four sons, Carl E. Sayre, Sr., and wife Rosie, of Proctor, Ark., Tommy Sayre and wife, Sherry, of Milano, Texas, Dennis Vickers, of St. Louis, Mo., and Dewayne Vickers and wife, Sandy, of Tallulah, La.; four daughters, Patricia Steven and husband, Eddy, of Wichita, Kan., Vickie Carver and husband Ray Van, of Bragg City, Mo. Dana Mora and husband, Armando, of Rockdale, Texas, and Jeretta Davis, of Caruthersville; one sister, Margie Schutt, of Grand Valley, M.; 14 grandchildren and five-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Carlene Sayre; three brothers, James Baker, Tommy L. and Harold Sayre and two grandchildren, Carl E. Sayre, Jr., and Lisa A. Konecny.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with Rev. Doug Boyd officiating.
Burial was in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Ray Van Carver, Butch Henson, James Carl and Elliot Baker, Eddie Sayre and Keith Davis.
Honorary pallbearer was Jimmy Bullington.
