Bennie Leon Plunk, 63, of Campbell, Mo., died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born June 30, 1945, in Toccopola, Miss., son of the late George Edward Plunk and Vallie Louise Snider Plunk Inmon, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in Vietnam. He was employed at Noranda Aluminum and was a member of the American Legion in Malden, Mo.
On Juy 12, 2003, in Clarkton, Mo., he married Debra Diane Warren, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Benjamin Plunk, of Aurora, Ill., and Christopher Plunk, of Gary, Ind.; one daughter, Amy Plink, of Springfield, Mo.; one step-daughter, Donielle Merciel, of Campbell; four brothers, Joe Plunk and wife, Anita, of Central City, Ky., Ed White, of Rockford, Ill., Jake Wade, of St. Louis, Mo., and Gary wade, of Blytheville, Ark.; four sisters, Susan Gjertsen, of Woodberry, Minn., Becky Pytilk, of Mokena, Ill., and Tina Plunk and Kim Keirsey, both of Dexter, Mo.; his step-mother, Flo Plunk, of Dexter and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Plunk and Ronnie Wade and his step-father, Toy Inmon.
Funeral serices are at 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with Rev. Mark Powell officiating.
Burial with military rites will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 20, in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery at Bloomfield, Mo.
