Advanced Pain Centers currently have seven offices in different towns in Missouri including Town & Country, Eureka, Farmington, Festus, Poplar Bluff, Cape Girardeau, and the newly established office in Kennett. These centers specialize in covering conditions causing acute and chronic pain such as back pain, neck pain, shingles, post-surgical pain, headache/migraine, fibromyalgia, stoke or cerebral palsy, spine cancer pain and fracture, pelvic pain, and many other conditions know to cause pain. The facilities also specialize in covering workman's comp and personal injury cases. The treatment provided at the center combines medicine, the latest pain procedures, and technology and science offering patients highly successful pain management programs.
Some of the most commonly performed procedures at APC include Spinal Cord Stimulator, Vertebroplasty, Trigger Point Injections, Epidurography, Cervical Epidural Steroid Injections, and Botox Injections.. According to an APC spokesperson, the differences between the facility and other pain management specialists is that APC utilizes advanced procedures and state-of-the-art equipment to treat pain. The organization not only treats the pain, but also looks for the cause of the pain in order to repair and eliminate the source of it. Advanced Pain Centers' primary goal is to quickly and permanently restore physical, emotional, and psychological function of the pain patients so they can go back to work quickly, according to an APC spokesperson.
Dr. Abdul N. Naushad has been working at the Advanced Pain Center in Poplar Bluff for about five years and is currently working on receiving hospital privileges at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center.
Office Manager Marsha Woolard said that the organization expanded to Kennett after noticing a lot of people in need of pain management throughout the area.
"The new locations will cut down on the patience driving distance and make it easier to receive treatment," Woolard said.
Woolard has worked for Advanced Pain Centers as an Office Manager in Poplar Bluff for almost one year.
The clinic has a pain agreement that patients must sign stating that the patient is unable to visit another physician for narcotics during their treatment. This cuts down abuse of narcotics and helps the facility better treat the patients, according to Woolard. If the patient breaks the agreement they will still receive treatment through the facility but will not receive narcotics treatment.
The organization delivers a complete program to help patients advance their functional ability, optimize their quality of life, and improve their emotional well-being.
