Luther Lee Bowling, 91, of Campbell, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Aug. 12, 1917, in Gunnersville, Ala., son of the late James Madison and Cora Lee Sizemore Bowling, he was a retired farmer and a member of the Campbell Church of Christ.
On Dec. 31, 1937, in Kennett, he married Dora Jane Farrar, who preceded him in death on Aug. 2, 1977. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Lou Bowling; one sister, Mary McLain and three brothers, Joseph, William and James Henry Bowling.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Meadows, of Campbell; one sister, Lena Cross, of Kennett; three grandchildren, Rick and Randy Meadows and Lori Knapp; five great-grandchildren, Brandi Wilson, Jennifer Nickles, Billy Meadows and Leiv and Ashley Newsom, and five great-great-grandchildren, Fabian, Jayci, Kendra, Hunter and Brandon.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 8, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 9, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with C.O. Evans and Jim Medlock officiating.
Burial will follow in the McGrew Cemetery at Senath, Mo.
