Peggy Cash

Peggy Jean Cash, daughter of the late James Henry Bass and Maud (Philhours) Bass, was born Feb. 4, 1927, in Leachville, Ark., and departed this life on Jan. 3, 2009, at Poplar Bluff Medical Center at Poplar Bluff, Mo., at the age of 81 years, 10 months and 30 days. She was formerly of Kennett. Peggy married Tom Cash on Dec. 23, 1945 in Kennett. Tom preceded Peggy in death.

Survivors include two sons, Tom Cash and wife, Linda, of Wake Forrest, N.C., Steve Cash and wife, Julie, of Charlotte, N.C.; three daughters, Carolyn and Mauri Sanford, of Atlanta, Ga., Connie and Pete Porter, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Sally and Rob Montgomery of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one sister, Joann Baker, of New Madrid, Mo.; 14 grandchildren: Scott Jackson and Kelly, of Atlanta, Ga., Kerri Molter and Michael, of Charlotte, N.C., Phillip Anderson, of Nashville, Tenn., Patrick Anderson and Angie, of Groton, Conn., Chris Montgomery and Cassy, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Peter Montgomery of Memphis, Tenn., Sarah Jane Faughn and Scott, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Emily Wilmoth and Nick, Andrew Cash and Jeff Cash and Brooke and Ben Cash, all of Raleigh, N.C., Mallory Cash, Ryan Cash and Brennan Cash, all of Charlotte, N. C., and 12 great-grandchildren, Alex and Justin Jackson , of Atlanta, Ga., Zachary, Jillian and Luke Anderson, all of Groton, Conn., Trey, Jake and Kate Montgomery, all of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Elliott Wilmoth, of Raleigh, N.C., Tommy, Audrey and Pressley Molter, all of Charlotte, N.C., and 2 on the way.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., today, Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the First Christian Church in Kennett with Revs. Dale Rickman and Dustin Morris officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
