Betty June Ray, 82, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Tallahassee, Fla.
Mrs. Ray was born May 9, 1926, to the late Albert and Elza Quinn. She married Allen M. Ray on Nov. 22, 1949, who preceded her in death on July 13, 2002. The Rays were longtime residents of Kennett, where she worked at Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio, as well as the Emerson Street Daycare Center. She was also a member of the Emerson Street Church of God in Kennett.
She is survived by her daughter, LaDonna Ray Brown and her husband, Gregg, of Tallahassee; a step-son, Russell Ray and his wife, Dianne, of Cabool, Mo.; one grandson, Eli Brown and his wife, Brandy, and their sons, Clay and Rory, all of Calvary, Ga.; and one granddaughter, Caroline Ferguson and her husband, Will and their son, Liam, all of Tallahassee. In addition she is survived by a step-grandson, Austin Ray and his wife, Tiffany, and their son, Anthony, all of Broken Arrow, Okla., and a step-granddaughter, Amber Ward and her husband, Jim, of Kansas City, Mo.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ray was also preceded in death by her brothers, Charles, Neil and Noel Quinn.
A memorial service for the family will be held at a future date.
