Ruth E. Fischer, 106, of Malden, Mo., formerly of Lilbourn, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Malden.
Born July 9, 1902, in Frisco, Mo., daughter of the late Robert Wilson and Josephine Wamble Baskin, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Malden.
On Oct. 25, 1941 in Farmington, Mo., she married Peter W. Fischer, who preceded her in death in June of 1977.
Survivors include two step-daughters, Ruth Riester, of Chicago, Ill., and Jane Nishiwaki, of St. Louis, Mo., 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Hugh Baskin, Earl Baskin, Gertle Nolan, Wisa Buchanan, Carl Baskin, Jack Baskin, and Opal Baskin, one step-daughter, Mable Selle, and one grandson.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church of Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church of Malden with Rev. Paul Williams and Rev. Paul Currie officiating.
Interment will be at Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Mo.
