Born April 27, 1924, at Holcomb, Mo., daughter of the late Van Allen Key and Pearl Ellen Dennis Key, she was a secretary and a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clarkton.
On Dec. 25, 1945 at Campbell, Mo., she married Reginald Palford "R.P." Bailey, who preceded her in death on May 16, 2004.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Croom, and husband Dow, of Sikeston, Mo., and Polly Orr, of Clarkton; four grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Heckemeyer, and husband Joe, of Sikeston, Sarah Croom, of Vail, Colo., Dr. Reginald Ashley Orr, of Atlanta, Ga., and Leeanna Hinerman, and husband Doug, of Montgomery, Ala.; five great-grandchildren, Caroline, Catherine, and Joseph Heckemeyer, and Jay and Calvin Hinerman; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harrison and Everett Key, and one sister, Gladys Key.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008 at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008 at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Daniel Hale officiating.
Interment will be in the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Mo.
