Billy Headley

Billy "Bill" Eugene Headley, 82, of Malden died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II. He was employed by A-1 Sanitation, was a member of the Four Mile Masonic Lodge in Campbell and was of the Baptist Faith.

Born in Doniphan on Nov. 19, 1926, he was the son of the late Samuel L. and Nora (Spencer) Headley. On April 19, 1949, in Pocahontas, Ark., he was united in marriage to Louise Noe, who survives of the home in Malden.

Also surviving are one son, Keith Headley of Malden; two daughters, Jeanie (Gary) Selby of Wappapello and Penny Miller of Tahlequah, Okla.; two brothers, Harold (Kathryn) Headley of Doniphan and Samuel (Laura) Headley of California; one sister, Louise Mayes of Bowling Green, Ky.; eight grandchildren, Heather Ellis and Travis Miller, both of Tahlequah, Shad Miller of Jenks, Okla., J'Anna Couch of Corning, Ark., Montana Chastain of Monette, Mo., Serenity Headley, Billy Headley and Dalton Headley, all of Malden, and Amy Herring of St. Louis; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 31, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mark Pickard officiating. Burial will follow in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery at Bloomfield. Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden is in charge of arrangements.
