James McCall Hinson, Sr., son of the late Arthur Hinson and Tennessee (Teague) Hinson, was born Sept. 15, 1912 in Luray, Tenn., and departed this life on Dec. 27, 2008, at the age f 96 years, 3 months, and 12 days.
James married Irene Lewis on Oct. 17, 1937, in Boonville, Ark. Irene preceded James in death.
Survivors include one son, James Hinson, and wife Teresa, of Brentwood, Tenn.; two daughters, Martha Ann Henry, of St. Louis, Mo., and Kathy Larsson, and husband Steve, of Marion, Ill.; four grandchildren, Katherine A. Phillips, and husband Robert L., of Fairfax, Va., Lewis Stone, of Troy, Tenn., Erin Larsson, of Naperville, Ill., and Laura Hinson, of Carrboro, Tenn.; three great-grandchildren, Blake, Ethan, and Juliet Phillips, of Fairfax, Va.; one sister, Ada McHaney, of Kennett, Mo.; a special friend, Terry Fuller; other relatives and many friends.
James was preceded by a grandchild, Eric Larsson; two brothers, Harold Hinson and W.C. McHaney; and one sister, Martha Francis White.
Visitation was Monday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m. with memorial services at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Kennett. Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Jocelyn VanBuskirk officiating.
Mr. Hinson passed away on Dec. 27, 2008, at Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett, Mo.
