Mable Carolyn Vavak, 62, of Kennett, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Feb. 8, 1946, in Bragg City, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Helen Peacock Stracener.

On Nov. 28, 1963, in Kennett, she married Billy J. Vavak, who survives.

Survivors also include one son, Mark Vavak and wife, Jamie, of Piggott, Ark.; one daughter, Penny Vavak, of Kennett; one brother, Michael Stracener, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one half-brother, Clifton Stracener, of Kennett; two half-sisters, Georgia Armstrong, of Doniphan, Mo., and Mary Ogdon, of Clarkton, Mo., and one grandson, Hayden Vavak, of Piggott.

She was preceded in death by a half-sister, Dorothy Norman.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Pastor Loy Culver officiating.

Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Benny Cox, Michael Exum, Michael Tompkins, Ramey Lovan, Andrew Rhew and Kevin Bell.
