Thelma Imogean Peterson Wortham, 92, of Malden, Mo., formerly of Kennett, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at National HealthCare in Kennett.

Mrs. Peterson Wortham was born May 17, 1916, in Bardley, Mo., to the late Joe and Lettie Watson. She was a member of the church. She lived most of her life in Kennett. Her younger years were spent in Pine and Holcomb, Mo. She loved gardening, quilting, arts and crafts.

Mrs. Peterson Wortham is survived by one son, Bobby Joe Peterson and wife, Janie, of Kennett; four daughters, Mildred Banks, of Marion, Ill., Marie Provance and husband, Sonny, of Malden, Mo., Ruby Peterson, of Seguin, Texas and Eva Mae Campbell, of Annada, Mo.; two sisters, Helen Risley, of Roseburg, Ore., and Leola Fehler, of Belleville, Ill.; two brothers, Jack Watson and wife, Betty, and Lonnie Watson and wife, Cecile, all of Doniphan, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Zora Watson.

Mrs. Peterson Wortham was preceded in death by two brothers, Mack and Homer Lee Watson; one sister, Ethel Marsh, and her parents. She was also preceded in death by her children's father, Omer Peterson in 2001.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 23, with Harold Condray officiating.

Burial was held in the Bardley Cemetery.

Edwards Funeral Home of Doniphan was in charge of arrangements.
