Born Aug. 6, 1957, in Pemiscot County, Mo., son of James Gorman and the late Lula Winters Gorman, he was a machine operator and was attending the St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis.
Survivors include four children, Sonya and Lavan Johnson, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Don Green, of Lincoln, Nebraska and Marcus Johnson, of Washington, D.C.; eight brothers, James T. Gorman and wife, Dorine, of St. Louis, Joe Gorman and wife, Mary Ann, of Steele, Mo., Jimmy Gorman and wife, Joycelyn, of Lansing, Mich., Arthur Gorman and wife, Rita, of Caruthersville, Mo., Samuel Gorman and wife, Dorothy, of Marietta, Ga., Kenneth Gorman and James Gorman Jr., both of Hayti, and Johnny Gorman and wife, Patricia, of Springfield, Ill.; five sisters, Margie West and husband, Calvin, Patricia Gorman, Leola Wilburn and Faye Stringfellow and husband, Darnail, all of Hayti, and Frances Collier and husband, Johnnie, of Orlando, Fla.; a special friend, Aurdeen Clarken; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Timothy Gorman and one sister, Deloris Gorman.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Faith Temple of God in Christ in Hayti with Rev. Darion Thomas officiating.
Burial with military honors was held in the Evergreen Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Melvin, Calvin and Joaquin West, Edward Covington, Charles Brooks and Dewayne McIntyre.
Honorary pallbearers were his brothers, James Jr., James T., Joe, Jimmy, Arthur, Samuel, Johnny and Kenneth Gorman.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
