Gordon Wesley Thornton, 93, of Campbell, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.

Born July 15, 1915, in Bernie, Mo., son of the late Samuel Herman and Elizabeth Reandeaux Thornton, he was a peach farmer and a member of the General Baptist Church in Campbell.

On July 4, 1941, in Bloomfield, Mo., he married Aileen Vincent, who survives.

Survivors also include one grandson, Jay Thornton, of Campbell; one granddaughter, Denise Wagster, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and three great-grandchildren, Justin and Shana Wagster, both of Piggott, Ark., and Chelsey Wagster, of Poplar Bluff.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jim Thornton and seven brothers.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Dell officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
