Born April 6, 1923, at Gideon, Mo., son of the late Arthur Harris Sr. and Bessie Ann VanDine Harris, he served in the U.S. Air Corp. during World War II and is a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service at Gideon. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gideon.
On Sept. 20, 1946, he married Lois Colleen Deen at Piggott, Ark., who preceded him in death on April 13, 2008. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry Jean Harris; and one sister, Mary Helen Hall.
Survivors include one son, Rodney Harris, and wife Anna, of Louisville, Ky.; one daughter, Marcia Mitchell, and husband Steve, of Malden; one brother, Bill Harris of Tempe, Ariz.; one sister, Dixie Belle Finney of Heber Springs, Ark.; one grandson, Jeffrey Mitchell, and wife LaDonna, of Malden; one great-granddaughter, Jordan Paige Mitchell, of Malden.
Visitations will be at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at the Bradshaw Chapel in Malden, with the Rev. Jonathan Rice officiating.
Burial will be in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo., with Military Rites.
