Forest Delane Brown, 68, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at his residence.

Born April 14, 1940, in Pontotoc, Miss., son of Elson Brown and the late Imildred Brown, he was a U.S. Army veteran.

He married Serina Martin, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Leon Woods, Jr. II.

Survivors include his children, Vicki Hames and husband, Butch, and Wendy Woods and husband, Clarence, all of Caruthersville, Terri Dudley, of Lexington, Tenn., and Forest Putnam and wife, Jeannie, of Russellville, Ky.; his father, Elson Brown, of Pontotoc; two brothers, Roger Dale Brown, of Randolph, Miss., and Louis Bivens, of Indiana; two sisters, Kay Hicks, of Kennett and Janet Tull, of Doniphan, Mo.; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, No. 19, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with Rev. Jim Pilcher officiating.

Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were Eric Smith, Mark and Sherman Manley, Chris Phelps, Dustin Hames and Tyler Thomas.
