Gilbert Cecil Kinder

Gilbert Cecil Kinder, 87, of Mt. Vernon, Mo., formerly of Bragg City, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at his residence.

Born May 21, 1921, in Leachville, Miss., son of the late Emmett and Carrie Penigar Kinder, he was a self-employed truck driver.

Survivors include three daughters, Patsi Bryson, of Willard, Mo., Vickie Bonnett, of Holt Summit, Mo., and Dean Wood, of Mt. Vernon; one son, G.C. Emmett Kinder, of Mt. Vernon; one brother, Lloyd Kinder, of O'Fallon, Mo.; one sister, Evelyn Hawkins, of Cahokia, Ill.; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by first wife, Faye Modglin Kinder; his second wife, Cloreese Grills Kinder; one son, Michael Kinder and one brother, J.W. "Buster" Kinder.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m., today, Thursday, Nov. 20, in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon was in charge of arrangements.
