Charlie was a gentle man who was kind to all of God's creatures, both great and small. He loved nature and spending time in the woods, on a lake or river better than anything on earth. His body would no longer allow him to be his real self, so he choose to leave it behind and be free, as he knew God wanted him to be. He served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957 and was a resident of Heber Springs for the past 19 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was known as the "all around fix it guy." He was a graduate of the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. He was retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Janice Odle Norris; one son, Mark Norris and wife, Linda ,of Searcy, Ark.; two daughters, Sonja Payne and husband, Willie of Elgin, Ill., and Sharla Norris, of Clinton, Ark.; one sister, Pat Dabbs and husband, Jerry, of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren and many friends.
