Bonita Pierce, 74, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Sunday, Nov. 9, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.
Born Feb. 15, 1934, in Steele, Mo., daughter of the late William and Ruth Huffman Driskill, she was employed at Brown Shoe Company and was of the Baptist faith.
On July 19, 1952, in Piggott, Ark., she married Frank Pierce, who survives.
Survivors also include four daughters, Frankie Stewart and husband, Tommy, and Sissy Phelps and husband, Carless, all of Caruthersville, Billy Carter and husband, Kenny, of Wichita, Kan., and Lisa Pierce, of Middletown, Pa.; one son, Danny Pierce, of Caruthersville; two sisters, Billie Cain and husband, Charles, of Pascola, Mo., and Melba Ridgeway and husband, Tom, of Houston, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Pierce, and two brothers, James and Ralph Driskill.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the Weslayan Church in Caruthersville with Rev Kenny Lee officiating.
Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Tommy Stewart, Randall Waldrop, Terry Johnson Sr., Joel Carter, Larry Thrasher and Ralph Sides.
Honorary pallbearers were Al Whitson and James Anderson.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
