Zenith Vivian McCluney Shannon, daughter of the late Issac and Ether Sides Bain McCluney, was born Nov. 4, 1911, in Rector, Ark. and departed this life on Nov. 5, 2008, at the age of 97 years and one day.
Zenith married Edgar "Pete" Shannon on Aug. 5, 1933, and he preceded her in death in Oct. 1986. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Glen McCluney, and four sisters, Cecil Laughlin, Flora Patrick, Eloyia McDonald and Edith Bain.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Shannon Landrum, of Kennett; four grandchildren, Eddie and Connie Landrum, of Amite, La., Vicki and Mike Rhew and Lori Telgen, all of Kennett and Danny and Angie Landrum, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; eight great-grandchildren, Wesley Landrum, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Philip Landrum, of Oxford, Miss., Andy and Courtney Rhew, of Manila, Ark., Angela and Patrick Payne, Jordan Shelton and Joely Telgen, all of Kennett, Jeremy Landrum, of Pensacola, Fla., and Missy Landrum, of Chattanooga; one great-great-grandson, Harrison Rhew, of Manila, and other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 8, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 8, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Grover Shannon officiating.
Burial was in the Woodland Heights Cemetery at Rector.
Pallbearers were Edwin Bradley, Ronald Hamlett, Ryan Holder, Bob Holder, Neal Bradley and Roman Nigut.
