Helen Jeanette Smith Ratliff, 66, of Whitehouse, Texas, formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, in Tyler, Texas.

Born June 15, 1942, in Athens, Ala., daughter of the late James Luke and Callie Mae Littrell Smith, she attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hayti.

Survivors include two sons, John Moya and wife, Shevon, of Amarillo, Texas and Tony Ratliff and wife, Brandee, of Whitehouse; two daughters, Sheila McCabe, of Tyler and Hope Renee Lacey, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one sister, Edna Mathina and husband, Otis, of Hayti; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Andrew, Jesse, David "Bootsie" and Harry Winston Smith and two sisters, Virginia Smith and Violet Sheppard.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Rev. Leroy Thornton officiating.

Pallbearers were Justin and Tony Ratliff, John Moya, Phillip McCabe, Robert Jenkins and R.J. Nelson.
