Born July 14, 1931 at Hollywood, Mo., son of the late Samual Cheatum and Gladys Ross Rose, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in Vietnam, a member of the Silverdale Baptist Church, and a member of the American Legion Post 362 of Hornersville.
On Jan. 12, 1951, in Piggott, Ark., he married Betty Lou Horner, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Alan Clinton Rose, of Paragould, Ark.; two daughters, Tressa Yvohna Vincent and husband Marty, of Paragould, and Lisa Anita Vaughn and husband David, of Cardwell, Mo.; two brothers, Floyd Rose and wife Alata, of Leachville, Ark., and S.C. "Dob" Rose, Jr., of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Mayfus Wilkins, of Cuba, Ala., and Sharon Hitt and husband, Tom, of Leachville; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Colton Howard; and several brothers and sisters.
Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 27, with Bro. Kenny Johnson officiating.
Burial was in the Horner Cemetery at Hornersville.
Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home of Hornersville was in charge of the arrangements.
