John H. Thompson Jr., 80, of Cottonwood Point, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, at Blytheville, Ark.
Born April 9, 1928, in Friendship, Tenn., son of the late John and Ellen Spencer Thompson, he was retired from farming and Inman Trucking. He was a member of Eastwood Methodist Church in Caruthersville, Mo.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Thompson, of Cottonwood Point; one son, Richard Thompson and wife, Jackie, of Caruthersville; two daughters, Mary Young and husband, Mack, of Marks, Miss., and Liz Hightower and husband, Mike, of Caruthersville; one brother, Buddy Thompson and wife, Johnnie Sue, of Cottonwood Point; one sister, Louise Whitney, of West Memphis, Ark.; one half-sister, Delores Brown, of Oak Grove, La.; one grandson, Madison Young, of Marks; two granddaughters, Jamie Thompson, of Caruthersville and Mackie Young, of Ridgeland, Miss., and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti, Mo., with the Rev. Jim Coffer officiating.
Pallbearers were Madison and Mack Young, John Clyde Thompson, John C. Thompson Jr., Danny Stevens, Mike Hightower, Zack Stevens and Mike Curtis.
