The resigning officer's reason was stated that it was too far of a drive to get to work.
Prior to the executive session, the Hornersville Fire Department informed the council that they responded to one fire last month. A total of three responders and one engine were dispatched to control and eliminate a module fire.
Mayor Richard Mara then informed the board that the city has once again ordered a recycle trailer.
"This is like the third go around with the trailer," Mara said.
The previous company the city was using to get a trailer was involved in a tornado accident. The city has chosen a new company to use, and have put a deposit on the trailer.
Following the discussion about the recycle trailer, Hornersville resident Tommy Brown addressed the board about a recent complaint.
Brown, who was forced to move a derelict vehicle from his property due to a city ordinance stating that a vehicle could not sit on residential property without tags, insurance, and without moving for more than 30 days, questioned the board about who turned in the complaint.
"The only time that we absolutely have to let you know is if you take it to court," Mara said.
Brown then started issuing complaints about other properties in the city.
"If you want to issue a complaint after [the meeting], you can see the police department," Mara said.
In other matters, the board:
* Approved the previous months minutes;
* Approved the financial report as given by Sara Jo Morgan;
* Approved the monthly bills.

hornersville cannot keep police officers very long. Since we dont have a lot of trouble here they should just hire a security officer with chief on standby.
its stupid that they can tell you what vehicle to have on your property. Does the city pay my property and personal taxes.. NO.. Did the city pay for my property NO... then people should mind their own business as long as its not causing harm who cares..
