Terry Gene Smith, Sr., 66, of South Haven, Mich., formerly of Kennett, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at his residence.
Born Jan. 23, 1942, in Beechcorner, Mo., son of the late Chester Lee and Athena Inez Smith, he moved to Michigan in 1978. He enjoyed Nascar, the Dallas Cowboys and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Chrystal Carlson Smith, of South Haven; one son, Terry Gene Smith, Jr., and wife, Deborah, of Lacota, Mich.; two daughters, Janetta Stain and husband, Rick, and Lee Ann Smith, of Deering, Mo.; two step-children, Michael Brewer, of South Haven and Becky Brewer Wilcox, of Elkhart, Ind.; one brother, Dennis Smith and wife, Mary, of Manila, Ark.; one sister, Debbie Williams and husband, Rick, of Kennett; 11 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Athena Marie Smith and Athena Lynn Smith; one brother, Wayne Smith and one sister, Brenda Austin.
Memorial services were held Oct. 4, 2008, at his residence in South Haven, Mich.
