Robert Ray Eledge

Robert Ray Eledge, 68, of Tyler, Texas, formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at Tyler.

Born July 3, 1940, in Hayti, son of the late John H. and Alice Vernisha Sutton Eledge Sr., he was a U.S. Navy veteran, a factory worker and a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Flint, Texas.

Survivors include two sons, John Robert Eledge and wife, Heather and Roger Wayne Eledge and wife, Tammy; one daughter, Sabra Lynn Shaffer and husband, Lloyd; one sister, Ina Claire Sanders, of Hayti; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by one brother, John H. Eledge and one sister, Jeri Reid.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Bro. Doug Wahls officiating.

Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.

Pallbearers were family and friends.
