James E. Crawford, 71, of Steele, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born March 16, 1937, in Rives, Mo., son of the late Vernon and Lillian Johnson Crawford, he was a welder and of the Church of Christ faith.
On April 23, 1957, in Kennett, he married Fayrene Barron, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Tim Crawford and wife, Cindy, of Steele; two daughters, Karen Priddy, of Holland, Mo., and Tammie Crawford, of Steele; two brothers, Wesley and William Dave Crawford, both of Steele; one sister, Georgia Crawford, of Steele; one granddaughter, Laura Holcomb, of Jonesboro, Ark., and one grandson, Matt Hammond, of Senath, Mo.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley McCaig and Mary Shubert.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., today, Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the Mt. Zion Cemetery with Spencer Furby officiating.
Powell Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
