"We assume it was a combine that cut the line," said Jamie Chitester, I.T. manager for CLGW. "There were a few [combines] out there working near where the line was cut."
"We did a [line check] and found that the problem was 15 miles from the office, on County Road 409," Chitester continued.
Chitester noted that both CLGW and TWC use the same feeder company to supply Internet service to their customers and that TWC had just found the actual break when CLGW arrived.
The two companies then worked together to splice the fiber optic cable back together.
"We were down for about three and a half hours. We had this problem about the same time last year and were down for about six to seven hours," Chitester said. "We couldn't let our customers be down that long this time."
