Max Ray Hawk, 70, of Senath, Mo., died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at Heritage Gardens of Senath.

Born Jan. 17, 1938, in Delaplaine, Ark., son of the late Joe Frank and Catherine Watson Hawk, he was a veteran, an iron worker and a security guard. He was of the Church of Christ faith.

He married Loma George, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by one son, George Christopher Hawk.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Edward Byrd and Timothy Ray Hawk, both of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, Don Haynes, of Holcomb, Mo.; six sisters, Veda McKay and husband, Harry, of Beebe, Linda Wright and husband, Hershel, and Brenda Davis, all of Marmaduke, Ark., Maddie Shipman and husband, Lynn, of Piggott, Ark., and Laura Rutz and Rose Duncan and husband, Donnie, all of Kennett ; six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 6, in the Harvey's Chapel Cemetery at Marmaduke.

Irby Funeral Home of Marmaduke was in charge of arrangements.
