The first two qualifying rounds went off without any problems.
The third qualifying round is when trouble started, with two injuries and several drivers escorted off the track by police after tempers began to fly.
After asking Chris Holt what his thoughts were when his car turned over on its side he said, "When the car hit me I got knocked out."
"When I came to the paramedics were there and took me to the ambulance to check me out."
"I asked them to let me get back in my car, they said no, because I had been knocked unconscious," Holt continued.
T. J. Scott, a 17-year-old senior at Senath-Hornersville High School, was also injured after his arm was caught in the steering wheel, during the race.
"I had x-rays Saturday night, they did not show anything, but I am still in a lot of pain. I am going for more tests on Monday," Scott said.
"I had fun and a good time, even though I was injured and I can't wait till next year."
$100 was given to the top three in each of the three qualifying rounds and "Best of Show" trophies were given to the top two drivers in each of the qualifying rounds.
The consolation round was for all driveable cars to return and try it again.
There were approximately 20 to 25 cars in this round with the top 15 moving on to the feature round.
The feature round was exciting for the fans, with bumpers, tires, and many other car parts dropping off the cars, along with the dirt flying into the stands, covering many spectators.
The featured round of the race finished with three top winners, all Kennett men. Jim Moody was the first place winner receiving $2500 and a trophy, Doug Washburn came in second place receiving $1200 and a trophy, and Danny Washburn won third place and received $800 and a trophy.
Each winner was asked what his thoughts were on the race and replied.
"It was a good show, good time and I was glad to participate. I absolutely loved it," Moody said.
"It was a well run derby and probably the most fun I have ever had in a derby," Doug Washburn said.
"That was the most fun I have ever had in a derby," said Danny Washburn.

Since moving away from Kennett I miss the Delta Fair Parade and the Demolition Derby more than anything......at least with DDD I can read about it.
the derby was pretty good, scary when the car was hit so hard that it flipped into fence. Although there is too much fighting and gets worse every year. On the track and up in the stands. Our child (4) loves the derby but this was the last year that our child will be there.
I think that the kennett derby is fixed, plus the kennett boys cheat at all derbys that they go to anyway.
i agree with wdksfortman the derby is rigged. there is no way the washburns should have been able to run. they didnt get to on thursday night because of trying to cheat. why get to on saturday it is not an outlaw derby.
maybe someone will stand up at voice a complaint. I would be glad to, just let me who I need to contact.
this is why i quit taking my kids to the fair period. everything is worse not just te derby. the whole fair gets worse everytime
I always loved the fair when I lived in Kennett. It was one of the highlights of the year & has been a fond memory for a few years... too bad if it is not remaining good, clean family fun!
get in a car and put em out, they run legal and well built cars dont hate
