Dean Ferrell Hankins, 78, of Oakland, Ill., formerly of Caruthersville, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at Charleston, Ill.
Born July 19, 1930, in Fourteen Bend, daughter of the late Clarence and Evelyn Ruth Hedges Ferrell, she had been employed at Sears and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Brantley and wife, of Oakland and Terry Brantley and wife, Pam, of Cottonwood Point, Mo.; one brother, Buck Ferrell and wife, Pat, of Caruthersville; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Dean Brantley, her husband, Guy Edward Hankins; one sister, Wanda Johnson and one great-granddaughter, Lindsey Grace Brantley.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti, Mo., with Brother Kenny Lee officiating.
Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Jacob and Melvin Norris, Michael Brantley, Joe Splittoriff, Timmy Ferrell and Doug Fitzwater.
