JoBeth Alison Scherer and James Eric Williams of Portageville, Mo., were married May 3, 2008 at Saint Eustachius Church in Portageville with Father Allen Saunders officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Joseph and Judy Scherer of Portageville and the granddaughter of Gertrude and Winford Robison of Wardell, Mo., Jim and Maggie Disher, and Florence Scherer and the late Gilbert Scherer of Portageville.

The bridegroom is the son of James and Melissa Williams of Portageville and the grandson of Lillie & the late James "Tiny" Williams of Portageville, and Christeen and the late Henry Overturf of Steele, Mo.

Escorted down the aisle by her father, the bride wore a gown designed by Anjolique Bridal, which featured s strapless mermaid sheath fashioned in ivory shantung fabric with a godet skirt. The body sculpting silhouette was encircled with a self-fabric sash enhanced with a Swarovski crystal brooch. The back of the gown featured a row of self-covered buttons. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of calla lilies wrapped with satin ribbon.

Jenny Scherer of Portageville, attended her sister as maid of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were Lauren Hinklin, sister of the groom; Shelly Priggel, cousin of the bride, and Kelli Ivie, cousin of the bride, all of Portageville, Amber Eatherly of Madison, Miss., friend of the bride, Sarah Graddy of Republic, Mo., friend of the bride, and Joanna Chafin of Osceola, Ark., friend of the bride.

The bridesmaids wore cocktail length strapless expresso satin-back taffeta dresses designed by Jim Hjelm which had fitted waists accented with box-pleated skirts with pockets. They carried a hand-tied bouquet of multi-colored hydrangeas.

Lance Sipes, of Oxford, Miss., friend of the bridegroom, served as the best man. Groomsmen included Britton Hinklin, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, Cory Hoxworth, cousin of the bridegroom, both of Portageville; Derek Hoxworth of Pensacola, Fla., cousin of the bridegroom; Chase Chafin of Osceola, Richard Slayton of Jonesboro, Ark., and Kendall Hale of Oxford, all friends the bridegroom.

Ushering the guests in were Micah Rone, of Portageville; Nathan Smith, of Oxford, MS; and Blake Davis, of Gideon; all friends of the bride and friend of the bridegroom;. The men wore miniature calla lilies on their classic black Ralph Lauren tuxedos.

Greeting guests at the wedding were guest book attendants Allison & Lindy Klipfel of Portageville, cousins of the bridegroom. Program attendants were Kaitlyn Gonzalez of Steele, cousin of the bridegroom, and Aubrey Anna Hayes of Portageville, friend of the bride. Flowergirls were Lily Priggel, of Portageville, cousin of the bride, Lily Kaye Anne Jenkins of Jackson, and Heidi Hoxworth of Portageville, both cousins of the bridegroom.

Music was provided by pianist Gary Clark; Guitarist and Soloist, Chris Stinnett, cousin of the bride.

Following the ceremony, the bride and bridegroom, along with family and friends, enjoyed a reception and dance at the University of Missouri Rone Hall.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of the University of Mississippi, is employed by the American Heart Association in Jackson, Miss., as a Regional Director, a 2006 graduate of Arkansas State University and is employed by Bunge North America in Yazoo City, Miss., as a Grain Elevator Manager.

Following a honeymoon at the Couples Negril Beach Resort in Negril, Jamaica, the couple are making their home in Vicksburg, Miss.
