Grace Johnson, 79, of Hayti, Mo., died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at Kennett.
Born Nov. 29, 1928, in Memphis, Tenn., daughter of the late John and Annie Lee Steele, she was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Congregation in Hayti Heights.
She married I.J. Johnson, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Robert "Big Bob" and Samuel "Sam" Johnson.
Survivors include six daughters, Ceolar Jones, of Grand Rapids, Mich., Mary Jones and husband, Jesse, and Patricia Johnson, all of Memphis, Gloria Blackman and husband, Charles, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Laura Johnson, of Hayti and Rose Johnson, of West Memphis, Ark., and three sons, Willie Johnson and wife, Drusilla, of Chicago, Ill., Timothy Johnson and wife, Murlene, of Columbus, Ohio, and Thomas Johnson and wife, Diane, of Alpharetta, Ga.
Funeral services were held at noon, Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ in Hayti with Elder Limmia D. Pulliam officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were family members.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
